ZAGREB - HRVATSKO ZAGORJE - PLITVICE LAKES – DALMATIA
Meet the most beautiful parts of Croatia: from the capital city and surrounding region, to the beautiful southern Adriatic Sea. Because who has once visited Croatia, always comes back.
Day 1: ZAGREB - arrival
Arrival to Zagreb airport. Transfer to hotel Porin, accomodation. Sightseeing Croatia's capital city by a bus. Panoramic tour through Donji grad - the Main Station, Tomislav Square, Zrinjevac, Croatian National Theatre, Mimara museum. Visit to Mirogoj cemetary and its arcades where are the last resting places of many famous Croatians. The tour continues with Zagreb Chatedral on Kaptol dedicated to St. Stephen, a walk to the central square of Zagreb, the Ban Jelačić Square and its Manduševac fountain, then over Krvavi most (translated as „The Bloody Bridge“) to the Tkalčićeva street. Passing through Kamenita vrata the tour continues on Gornji grad, walking near Banski dvori, St. Mark's Church and Parliament of Croatia located in the St. Mark's Square, visit to Katarina Zrinski Square, Jesuit Square and the Lotrščak Tower. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: HRVATSKO ZAGORJE CASTLES
Breakfast. Departure in front of hotel in the morning. Drive to Kumrovec. Visit to Ethnological Museum Staro selo Kumrovec, an ethno village consisted of 18 houses each representing a traditional craft in Hrvatsko zagorje during 18th and 19th century and aslo a birthplace of Josip Broz Tito. Drive continues towards Trakošćan with panoramic tour of Hrvatsko zagorje: Miljana castle, Veliki Tabor. Arrival to Trakoščan, a castle built in 13th century, today owned by the Republic of Croatia and since 1953 it works as the Museum with collections on permanent display. Short walk through forest park and visit to the lake nearby. Departure to Zagreb in the evening. Dinner – the possibility of organizing folklore night, an event representing croatian cultural heritage. Overnight stay.
Day 3: ZAGREB - PLITVICE LAKES
Breakfast. Departure to Plitvice Lakes National Park, added to UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Visit of the entire Plitvice Lakes accompanied by tour guide, all 16 lakes are on different levels and mutually connected create cascade waterfalls. Possibility of organizing a lunch. Drive continues towards Adriatic coastline. Arrival to the city of Dubrovnik. Accomodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: DUBROVNIK - SPLIT
Breakfast. Morning sightseeing the city of Dubrovnik, added to UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Visit to the Franciscan Monastery and its pharmacy, which is aslo one of the Europe's three oldest pharmacies, and visit to Rector's Palace and Dubrovnik Chatedral. Afternoon departure to Split, driving along the Adriatic Coast and the delta of Neretva river. Dinner and overnight stay in the city of Split.
Day 5: SPLIT - TROGIR - ZADAR
Breakfast. Morning sightseeing the city of Split which includes the visit to Diocletian's Palace, added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites along with the Chatedral of st. Duje, its Peristyle and Jupiter's temple. Arrival to the city of Trogir, a beautiful medieval town and visit to the Chatedral of St. Lawrence. The trip continues to Zadar. Accomodation in hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: ZADAR - ZAGREB
Breakfast. Morning sightseeing the city of Zadar which includes visit to Roman Forum and the Church of St. Donatus, the largest pre-Romanesque building in Croatia. Return to Zagreb. Arrival in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel Porin.
Day 7: ZAGREB - departure
Breakfast. Transfer to the Zagreb airport.
